SP:
Tyler Glasnow, Dodgers (DK: $10,800 | FD: $11,200)
Kevin Gausman, Blue Jays (DK: $8,300 | FD: $9,000)
Cole Ragans, Royals (DK: $8,200 | FD: $10,400)
Notes: Glasnow is the clear-cut best pitcher on the slate with a 30-plus ceiling. He faces a Brewer team fresh off a 4-game slate in Colorado. Hitters have been known to be a bit sluggish in the first game after a series in Coors Field. The Optimizer projects Gausman as tonight’s top value pitcher, with Cole Ragans right behind.
Stacks:
Kansas City Royals vs. Colorado Rockies
Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros
Detroit Tigers vs. Cincinnati Reds
Notes: The optimizer projects the Royals as the highest-scoring team. The Twins are one of those teams that win the money when they hit well because they have bargain pricing. The Optimizer rates the Tigers as the best-valued stack on the night.
C:
Salvador Perez, Royals (DK: $5,800 | FD: $3,900)
Shea Langeliers, Athletics (DK: $3,800 | FD: $2,900)
Notes: Perez is in a great spot vs. SP Kyle Freeland, and the Optimizer agrees, projecting him as the highest-scoring catcher. Langeliers is my gut feeling play, as I think he has a solid night.
1B:
Freddie Freeman, Dodgers (DK: $5,800 | FD: $3,800)
Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles (DK: $4,300 | FD: $3,100)
Notes: I like Freeman because the Optimizer projects him as the third-highest scoring first baseman but also projects him under 5% owned. Mountcastle is the highest projected first baseman priced above 4K.
2B:
Maikel Garcia, Royals (DK: $5,400 | FD: $3,900)
Ketel Marte, Diamondbacks (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,700)
Notes: The Optimizer projects Garcia and Marte as the two top-scoring second basemen, and I can’t argue with that, as both have A+ matchups tonight.
3B:
Manny Machado, Padres (DK: $5,200 | FD: $3,200)
Matt Vierling, Tigers (DK: $4,200 | FD: $3,000)
Notes: Machado and Vierling have solid matchups, and the optimizer has projected them to be second and fourth in third base scoring.
SS:
Bobby Witt Jr., Royals (DK: $6,800 | FD: $4,800)
Notes: Witt will be in almost all my lineups. The Optimizer projects him as the highest-scoring hitter on the slate, with over 13 points. I think he scores over 20.
OF:
Yordan Alvarez, Astros (DK: $5,400 | FD: $4,300)
Teoscar Hernandez, Dodgers (DK: $5,400 | FD: $3,500)
Riley Greene, Tigers (DK: $5,100 | FD: $3,400)
Corbin Carroll, Diamondbacks (DK: $4,700 | FD: $3,100)
Jazz Chisholm, Marlins (DK: $4,500 | FD: $3,100)
Notes: The Optimizer projects Alvarez as the second highest-scoring outfielder at under 6% ownership. Hernandez, Carroll, and Chisholm are all projected to be in the top six in scoring. I like Greene as he is the best hitter on the best-valued stack.
Value Players:
3B Brooks Lee, Twins (DK: $2,000 | FD: $2,500)
C Gabriel Moreno, Diamondbacks (DK: $3,500 | FD: $2,900)
OF Heston Kjerstad, Orioles (DK: $3,600 | FD: $2,400)
2B Brandon Lowe, Rays (DK: $3,800 | FD: $3,000)
SP Reese Olson, Tigers (DK: $7,200 | FD: $8,700)
SP Shane Baz, Rays (DK: $7,300 | FD: $7,300)
Notes: Brooks Lee is a gift at price, a top Twin’s prospect, and is the best-valued hitter according to the optimizer. He allows you to easily afford Witt Jr. Brandon Lowe has 16-plus points in three of his last four games. Olson and Baz are going to make us sweat but offer 20-plus point upside at a cheap price.
